
Our amazing jerds attended the KSPA Fall Conference at KU in Lawrence today! They received their 2024 state journalism trophy, which is the 14th consecutive year HHS has won state. Congratulations to these wonderful student journalists!

Painting and other art activities can be a form of co-regulation. Art can help children connect with themselves and others. Painting enhances brain function, it can improve memory. Creating something whether its a "masterpiece" or not, can relieve stress and help one feel good about themselves.

Nutrition and Wellness students just finished learning about the importance of one of the 6 essential nutrients - water!
They also learned about the career of a food stylist.
Then, we combined the two to do a water photoshoot. Their goal? Make the most appealing glass of water.

Culinary Arts 2 students made crepes with homemade peach sauce and whipped cream for our Analyzing Cuisine unit section about France!




Students in Culinary Arts 1 made Fruit Salad with Lemon Ricotta Mousse. They practiced properly cutting fruit including a whole pineapple, a mango and a kiwi. They also used a somewhat unfamiliar tool, the microplane, to zest a lemon.

We have some Amazing students at HMS!! Our Opperation Orange recipients this week were recognized for having positive attitudes, opening doors for teachers, picking up trash in another town on the away bench, always having smiles on their faces and postive attitudes 🧡
