Students in Intro to FACS made a s'mores sandwich today - a class pick. Students first had to choose a sandwich they deemed "best" and write a persuasive speech over it. Then, they had to present it to the class. Lastly, the class voted on which sandwich they wanted to make.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. The purpose is to help raise awareness about the dangers of excessive alcohol use and supporting those affected by alcoholism. Throughout the month, communities engage in events, share educational resources, and spark conversations focused on prevention and reducing the stigma of addiction. The goal is to foster understanding, encourage early intervention, and support individuals on the path to recovery. Whether it’s preventing underage drinking, helping a friend seek help, or taking steps toward your own sobriety. This year, Humboldt Middle School STUCO members, along with building principal Ron James and school counselor Darcie Croisant, took action by participating in Sticker Shock. This community initiative helps raise awareness about the heavy fines and legal consequences associated with providing alcohol to minors. Their efforts serve as a powerful reminder of the role we all play in promoting safety and responsibility.

Dr. Ward had a plethora of journalism knowledge to share with us, and we so appreciated him taking time out of his day to visit us. It was so great to learn some valuable editing tips we will use in the future. Thanks again, Dr. Ward, for stopping by and visiting with us!

We had some special visitors today! We finished up our unit on colonial America. Part of that instruction included learning about how farmers sheered their sheep and used the wool to make cloth. Everleigh was so excited to bring her sheep and show their wool to our kindergarten classes!
