Middle School Principal's Message

Welcome to Humboldt Middle School, home of the Cubs!  We are happy that you and your children are part of our school family. It is our mission that we build a foundation so that your children can become responsible citizens in the community. We are dedicated to the education of our students and work hard to see that they succeed.

In the past several years, that hard work has paid off! Not only have we met AYP, but we have also received the State Standard of Excellence in both reading and math. In 2011, 92% of our students were proficient in math while 90% were in reading. Our eighth grade team was awarded the "Certificate of Recognition" by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force. This award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas Assessment results from 2010 and other qualifying factors, specifically the sample size, ethnicity and socio-economic status of those taking the test. Additionally, we continue to integrate 21st Century Skills within our curriculum so our students will be prepared for the future. We believe that research-based strategies and effective instruction practices help our students meet their academic goals.
