Located in Southeast Kansas, the Humboldt community embraces its heritage and excellent reputation for supporting education. USD 258 has enjoyed a long history of strong community support. We value the strong ties fostered between schools, families, volunteers and community partners to provide students with a quality learning environment. Our outstanding Board of Education and extremely dedicated staff provide a high quality educational program for every child in our district.
Together our district will be facing the continuing challenge of meeting the requirements of the federal regulations being imposed upon us through the “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB) Act. Hard work and a caring attitude will serve us well as we work toward having 100% of our students proficient in reading and math by 2014. We are very close to making that a reality in the district. That accomplishment is a tribute to the dedicated staff working in collaboration with each other to provide the best academic program possible for EVERY child.
Our students consistently score in the exemplary range on state assessments. A large percentage of our high school students are involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities providing for a well-rounded educational experience.
We invite you to spend some time learning more about our school district on this web site. As you explore, you will discover valuable information about our district, schools, and the community.
Welcome to Humboldt Public Schools and Unified School District 258!
