Class Descriptions
KINDERGARTEN – 2ND GRADE
EMERGING TECHNOLOGY – Technology today is emerging into so much more than we could ever imagine. So why not allow your kids to get some hands-on fun and learning experience with iPad 2’s. This class is designed for young eager learners to learn how to operate and interact with an iPad. Students will get hands-on learning experience everyday with apps. We will take our learning journey down the path of music, science, reading, math, art and so much more!!
WACKY SCIENCE – Students will be conducting simple and fun hands-on experiments with everyday items. They will learn to observe and describe what they see in preparation for a lifelong learning adventure of our world. This class will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays.
ART – Students will enjoy making different projects through utilizing various media.
3RD AND 4TH GRADES
ART – Students will have the opportunity to use their creative imaginations with several different class projects. Holiday crafts, thumbprint characters, and painting are just a few examples. They will be able to explore a wide range of artistic talents.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGY – This class will let students dive into the world of iPads. They will learn how to operate the iPad along with using them to create projects and complete everyday tasks. They will be enriched with many apps that will build upon knowledge and let them have some fun!!
SPANISH EXPLORERS – Intro to Spanish language and culture with an emphasis on oral and listening development. Interactive activities will be emphasized including songs and games. Themes will include alphabet, calendar, numbers, colors, weather, emotions, clothing, greetings, and food.
COOKING AND NUTRITION – This class will promote and teach kids about nutrition and food preparation with hands-on experiences such as cooking as well as group activities involving nutrition.
5TH AND 6TH GRADES
BUDDING GARDENERS – Students will be creating a community garden. Older students will help with the dirt work and planters. Younger students will be planting seeds and caring for them in the greenhouse. When the greenhouse plants are ready, all students will help with planting and tending to them in the garden.
